Job Title:Data Engineer (Azure & Databricks)
Location: Brussels
Hybrid: Yes (2 - 3 days/week onsite)
Type of Contract: Permanent Contract
Mandatory Languages: Fluent in English AND French OR Dutch (C1 minimum)
Travel: Occasional travel to Berlin

We are looking for a Data Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role to design and implement data pipelines using Azure services and Databricks. The ideal candidate will work closely with business analysts and stakeholders, ensuring that data solutions are scalable, reusable, and aligned with business needs. You will contribute to data integration, enrichment, testing, documentation, and DevOps principles, helping to build a product-oriented data ecosystem that enhances enterprise-wide coherence and adoption.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a data engineering or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, SQL Server, and data pipeline implementation.
- Proficiency in Python for data processing within Databricks.
- Experience with Azure services such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Stream Analytics, Log Analytics, and Azure DevOps.
- Strong ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience with data visualization using Power BI.
- Fluent in English AND French OR Dutch (C1 minimum)
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, Neo4j, or Apache Arrow.
- Experience working in a product-oriented mindset, fostering data reusability and enterprise-wide coherence.
- A track record of driving continuous improvement through iterative problem-solving and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Azure Stream Analytics, Log Analytics, and Azure DevOps.
- Implement data enrichments with Python within a Databricks environment.
- Manage and optimize SQL Server usage for data storage and processing.
- Contribute to extensive testing of solutions and reinforce DevOps principles within the team.
- Maintain and improve documentation structure and clarity.
- Leverage Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
